# nano for AI agents

nano (nano.design) is a design tool where designs are real HTML and CSS. Agents design through the MCP server at https://nano.design/mcp.

## Use it with an account
Add https://nano.design/mcp to your MCP client. It signs in with OAuth; the person picks their account
(or "Try without an account", which gives you a temporary guest workspace).

## Try it without an account (guest workspace)
Ask for a guest key, no person involved:

The response has:
- api_key: send it as "Authorization: Bearer <api_key>" to https://nano.design/mcp
  (Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http nano https://nano.design/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <api_key>")
- share_url: a page anyone can open to see the designs. Give it to the person you work for.
- claim_url: for that person only. Opening it, they sign in or sign up and keep the designs.
- expires_at: two hours from now. Unclaimed guest workspaces and their designs are deleted then.

Guest workspaces hold up to 10 designs, can't invite people or share by email, and render a limited number of screenshots and exports an hour.
Results of tools that create or change designs in a guest workspace repeat the time left and the links; the teams tool's guest action shows them any time.
